Born in 1978, jazz musician at heart since his childhood, Ludovic Beier is passionate about his "west-coast". He discovers his idols (Chick Corea, George Duke, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, George Benson …) that influence in the years of his musical training. He began composing at an early age and slides his albums some of his themes, ballads to bebop.
The meeting Angelo Debarre mark the beginning of his career as a jazz musician, a moment he had been waiting. In a short time, his partner in the name of Angelo takes on an international dimension with, pinnacle, a series of triumphant concerts at the famous New York club BIRDLAND Temple of global jazz. During the American tour Ludovic played and "jammed" with, among others, Dorado Schmitt, James Carter, Paquito D'Rivera and Frank Wess.
Moreover the performance of some concerts were broadcast on the legendary radio WBGO.
The album "Swing Dating" is well appreciated and criticized by the press and media, giving it a distribution in the United States, Europe and Asia. The duo's second album "Come Into My Swing" was released in August 2003 distributed by Harmonia Mundi after touring the
USA at prestigious festivals such as San Francisco, Chicago, Ann Arbor, Montreal … In March 2006, he had the great privilege of playing during the "MAGIC OF TOOTS" at Carnegie Hall in NYC with Toots Thielemans, Herbie Hancock, Eliane Elias, Ivan Lins, Oscar Castro-Neves, Paquito D'Rivera, Joe Lovano, Ari Honig, Scott Colley and Kenny Werner.
Ludovic Beier was also awarded the 2005 Gus Viewfinder great price, and was rewarded in 2007 by the price Spring SACEM Francis receiving the Baxter Award.
It was released in May 2009 a new quartet CD "Django Brasil" where he rearranges the standard Django Reinhardt to the Brazilian way. It will also be part of the 2010 grand tour "Manoir de mes Rêves" Angelo Debarre, Stochelo Rosenberg, Dorado Schmitt, Thomas Dutronc … to celebrate the centennial of the birth of Django Reinhardt.
