Romane is not only one of the greatest French guitarists, he is also one of the most prolific composers of gypsy-jazz. But at heart he remains very much a musician whose desire is to communicate and share his love of the genre. He has written music manuals and also founded his own music school, the Romane Swing Academy. Here he plays with his two sons, Pierre and Richard Manetti, both of whom are also superb guitarists. Guitar Family Connection contains all the musical virtues one expects from such a tightly-knit group. He works with his two sons, both unrivalled guitarists: Richard Manetti (sponsored as a Jazz Talent by the SACEM foundation) also published the magnificent “Why note” (Label Bleu) in 2012, a consecration of Romane’s teaching-techniques.
This record contains all the musical virtues one expects from such a tightly-knit group. Apart from their interest in the music, these musicians connect together perfectly when playing. The way they listen to each other, alternately taking the lead with respect, shows how a family can be One: one musician with six arms.
