Multi-instrumentalist and singer Esperanza Spalding had an eclectic musical upbringing. A graduate of Berklee University, the African American double bass player released her first album "Junjo" in 2006, and "Esperanza" in 2008. Her jazzy style, praised by the critics, acquired a larger following with "Chamber Music Society" in 2010. She played on the stage of the "Théâtre antique" in Vienne on 8 July 2012, in a sophisticated yet accessible performance.
