Another re-released album from Indra's extensive discography is Sideral Music. This album sees Indra in atmospheric EM mode rather than Berlin School and uptempo styles that characterise some of his other re-released works. In this respect it could be considered a sister album to Ocean of Silence. As with his other albums one can detect the influences of Jarre and Vangelis.

Indra has gone for long form pieces on this album, the first track is Earthbound and full of mystery then the second track is space oriented - at least according to their titles. The twenty nine minute long "Atlantis" opens up with a sense of hidden treasures by using snatches of otherworldly chorales, whistling electronics, tinkling and tapping sounds, and various other enigmatic refrains. Somehow the piece manages to cohere without any common structure running through it. It's like investigating a lost world and having different sound effects to accompany each new discovery. There are lots of tinkles, short melodic refrains, and occasional dramatic synth lines.

Into the second track "Orion Bliss" the style and mood change a little. It's like we're in a lost world and emerge from an old building to view the stars which have now come out to cover the sky with twinkling happiness. Again there is no sequencing or other rhythmic structures. It's another half hour of delightful effects and a few melodic snippets. What appeals to me about this track is the childlike sense of wonder the music invokes. The lovely synth sounds are as wondrous thoughts rushing through our minds or shooting stars and beautiful patterns of light formed by the Milky Way.

Though I would probably recommend Ocean of Silence over Sideral Music for a good example of Indra's atmospheric work, this album is still worth checking out.
