The showcase of the album is a five-part suite of mostly improvisational keyboard pieces entitled "Ice Flight." Dropping the listener in the middle of the Antarctic, it conjures up feelings of frigid winds and a whitened radiance. The pieces are linked by a gently quivering arpeggio theme, itself briefly expanded in the third segment of the suite. "Glacier Bay" is a spooky improv with Phillips' keyboards set to a spectral oscillation, vibrating and chopping softly. "Blizzard Mountain" makes use of a string patch lead set against sinewave fluctuations (the sinewave effect features heavily on this album as a whole) and oceanic backdrop… somewhat like early Heldon, though more tranquil. The suite concludes with the brief but picturesque "Cathedral of Ice," which is the lone composed segment. Ground & Sky
