KING BISCUIT FLOWER HOUR RECORDS CD

What is King Biscuit?
The King Biscuit Flower Hour launched as a nationally syndicated radio program of live concert performances 29 years ago, the first live concert series created for radio. The Biscuit was officially born on on February 18, 1973, with the recording and airing of an fittingly eclectic triple bill: the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Blood Sweat & Tears and a then unknown Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band. The weekly Flower Hour was conceived and produced by truly open-minded, fanatical music lovers, dedicated to bringing the BEST live concert artists and performances right into the most remote living rooms in the land.

The response was over the top. As weekly listeners rose to the 3 million mark, The Biscuit became a launchpad for bands who may not have had the opportunity to reach deep into the heartland of massive, far-flung American audience. The exposure, for many bands, was critical to their State-side success. Still, The Biscuit's greatest impact was most likely on the millions it influenced individually. It connected people with a wide range of artists and styles, and offering fans a unique all-access view into the world of rock 'n' roll and pop culture.

Today, three decades from its inception, the King Biscuit Flower Hour continues to broadcast weekly over its syndicated national FM network, connecting music fans from three generations with the Biscuit Archives - 20 years of their musical heritage, caught live.

AMERICA are an American rock and roll band, most popular in the early and mid 1970s and early 1980s and now best known for their #1 hits "A Horse With No Name" and "Sister Golden Hair." They are also known for the classic rock radio staple "Ventura Highway". Although they were seldom a favorite with critics, from a commercial standpoint, the band's singles and albums were exceptionally successful. Despite the presence of other heavyweight acts like James Taylor and Rod Stewart on their roster, Warner Brothers Records' biggest selling act of the 1970s was America. The band still maintains a strong following and performs over 100 shows per year.
