Wishbone Ash - Just Testing (1980) [Japanese Ed. 2001]

Just Testing is the tenth studio album by the British rock band Wishbone Ash, released in 1980. It was to be bass guitarist and vocalist Martin Turner's last appearance on a Wishbone Ash album, until the release of Nouveau Calls in 1987.

Bassist Martin Turner left just after this release, and it's easy to see why. The playing is fine, with Andy Powell and Laurie Wisefield sometimes recapturing the band's historic twin-guitar magic. But the veteran quartet also verges on self-parody at times. Even the best among the unimpressive material had been done better before. ~ Mark Allan
