Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio - Autumn In Seattle (2003)

Tsuyoshi Yamamoto (drummer, composer, arranger) was born in Japan in September 9, 1982. He started playing the drums at 15 years old. He played rock in high school and had some performances. In college, he joined the jazz club, and he started playing in big bands and small bands, also funk band, and did many live performances. He played with local professional musicians, and extensively attended jam sessions. He continued playing rock. The rock band was "Samurai". They did many live performances. They recorded their songs, and released a CD from an independent label called People’s Records on March 26th, 2004. They toured and performed in Japan, Tokyo and Osaka. Tsuyoshi majored in Molecular Biology in Nagoya University in Japan. Superficially, biology is completely different from music. But he studied hard and gained knowledge and experiences that got him to think about various things. He graduated in spring 2006. Then he enrolled Berklee college of music because he would like to study and acquire more experience at Berklee. Tsuyoshi dual-majors in performance and jazz composition. In 2009 spring, he was awarded "Louie Bellson Award". He has studied with Hideki Shibata, Nobuyasu Satake, Kozo Suganuma, Sergio Bellotti, Kenwood Dennard, Terri Lyne Carrington, Ralph Peterson Jr., Victor Mendoza, Alberto Netto, Dave DiCenso, Bertram Lehmann, Ian Froman, Hal Crook, Darren Barrett, Dave Santoro, George Garzone, and Jamey Haddad.
