From the mind of Yasohachi "88" Itoh, the Japanese producer who created numerous albums with the late Hank Jones and his Great Jazz Trio, comes a new super-group of the 21st century: The Super Premium Band featuring Kenny Barron on piano, Ron Carter on bass and Lenny White on drums! As great as these musicians are, and despite their long and varied careers, the three of them had never played together as a trio. This CD is also the inaugural release of Itoh's new label called ZZJA Plus. In the program of well-known standards and originals, the three jazz giants show us why they are giants. The arrangements are sharp, solos inspired and the ensemble are really tight.Track List
