Three years after the debut album, the Tallin-based Suicidal Romance returns in 2010 with their new album “Shattered Heart Reflections”. This Estonian trio consisting of Dmitry, Viktoria and Maarja released the debut album “Love Beyond Reach” in 2007 and one year later the EP “A Kiss to Resist” saw the light of day before the band went completely dark.

After some personal problems regarding Dmitry, the band is back after a rough time better then ever with a new modern sound, leaving the gothic style behind and once again the band uses the production skills of Vasi Vallis from Frozen Plasma/Reaper.

My first thought when listening through the album is that the catchy refrains are still there, together with the beautiful voice of Viktoria and Dmitry with the male vocals. “Touch” is a beautiful song with a really great melodic approach, while the following “Words That Change Everything” offers a slightly heavier sound with a very infectious melodic structure. Viktoria has an amazing voice and her striking lines hits you in the heart and really touches your soul. Beautiful!

“Shattered Heart Reflections” continues to deliver powerful electronic music with tracks like “Make Me Blind” and “Love Stays The Same” that really gives the feeling to move your feet. One club friendly track takes over after the other and gives the listener an adrenaline packed journey of danceable tracks. “Dreamers” though, is the only track that differs from the others with its drastically lowered beat count.

All in all, “Shattered Heart Reflections” is a true masterpiece of great tracks with amazing melodies and touching female vocals. It’s danceable, beautiful and offers great production.

Suicidal Romance Biography:

Suicidal Romance is a Tallinn / Estonia based band that is creating electronic music since 2006. Current line up is Dmitry Darling (vocals, lyrics, music) and Viktoria Seimar (vocals). Maarja Korstnik has left the band in the beginning of 2011. All started from a track “Cold Kiss” that was written without any purpose, just for pure fun, but after receiving positive feedback it was decided to start a whole project. Viktoria Seimar joined the band as the female vocalist in august of 2006 at the same time with Maarja Korstnik and the first and only demo CD was released. One month later Suicidal Romance was signed to Infacted Recordings.

The very first live appearance for Suicidal Romance took place in September as they were opening for Spetsnaz in Tallinn, Estonia. Shortly after this live performance the band entered the studio to record a debut album. In 2007 Suicidal Romance took part in the beggist Dutch underground music festival Summer Darkness. The debut CD “Love Beyond Reach” was released on June 8. The CD contained 11 original tracks and two remixes from Blutengel and Lost Area. “Love Beyond Reach” was also released in Russia via Gravitator Records under exclusive license from Infacted Recordings. This year band was touring in Germany and the Netherlands and was playing on a big Christmas festival DarkStorm Festival in Chemnitz and Berlin. After playing for the first time in Moscow (Russia) Suicidal Romance took part of one of the biggest gothic festivals in Europe - Wave Gotik Treffen in 2008. Also in this year Suicidal Romance entered their studio again to develop another release. This time it was an EP entitled “A Kiss to Resist”.

In the end of 2008 Dmitry i. started to have problems with his health from drugs and alcohol overuse what lead to months of antidepressants… but no good without bad so somewhere in the middle of 2009 Dmitry i. was already putting last touches to his new opus, “Shattered Heart Reflections”, an album that will show Suicidal Romance from the different side. This album seas Suicidal Romance playing more with modern sounds, leaving gothic style in the times of Dmitry’s depression and creating a whole new direction for the band…

Suicidal Romance’s second album “Shattered Heart Reflections” was released in 2010 via Infacted Recordings, Metropolis Records and DeathWatch Asia.

The long awaited third album “Memories Behind Closed Curtains” will be released in 2011 (autumn).

SUICIDAL ROMANCE это группа из Таллина (Эстония), которая сформировалась в 2004-м году, чтобы взойти на мировую gothic/electro сцену, на которой уже давно не зажигалось новых «звезд». Сейчас группа состоит из трех человек: лидер группы Dmitry (вокал, лирика, программинг), Viktoria (вокал), Maarja (клавиши, визуальная концепция).

В 2005-м году музыканты уже четко определили музыкальный жанр, в котором будут работать – Gothic Electro, а в 2006-м группа записала свой первый демо-диск.

Всего в течение месяца SUICIDAL ROMANCE находит себе пристанище в лице одного из ведущих германский лейблов Infacted Recordings.

В 2007-м году группа выступила на крупнейшем датском фестивале Summer Darkness. Дебютный альбом SUICIDAL ROMANCE «Love Beyond Reach» вышел в Европе в июне 2007-го, а в сентябре того же года был издан и в России на Gravitator Records. Альбом был записан и смикширован Vasi Vallis, лидером проектов FROZEN PLASMA и REAPER. Помимо 11-ти оригинальных треков, «Love Beyond Reach» содержит два ремикса – от корифеев gothic electro BLUTENGEL и от LOST AREA – молодой, но очень перспективной немецкой группы.

Благодаря удачному сплаву gothic, darkwave, romantic pop, современным электронным аранжировкам и ярким мелодиям, а также стильному готическому имиджу Dmitry, Viktoria и Maarja, группа встретила самый теплый отклик в сердцах немецких поклонников темной романтики. Ведушие немецкие издания, освещающие «шварце сцену», такие как Zillo и Orkus, отметили альбом отличными ревью и наградили SUICIDAL ROMANCE титулом «Лучшая новая команда месяца», положительные рецензии, интервью и статьи напечатали также журналы Gothic, Negatief и Sonic Seducer.

В апреле 2008-го года, по приглашению Gravitator Records SUICIDAL ROMANCE приезжают с единственным концертом в нашу страну и с успехом выступают в московском клубе «Точка».

В ноябре 2008-го SUICIDAL ROMANCE возвращаются к слушателям с 13-трековым EP «A Kiss To Resist». На диске представлены новые композиции, а также ремиксы от групп AESTHETIC PERFECTION, XP8, SYRIAN, MASSIV IN MENSCH, песня, записанная совместно с Jan Moser (ex-LOST AREA, YADE), кавер на песню ERASURE «Always» и акустическая версия «Call Me» с альбома «Love Beyond Reach».

Всё началось с проблем со здоровьем у Дмитрия… месяца антидепрессантов, психотерапевтов, транквилизаторов… сложные времена вызванные злоупотреблением наркотиков и алкоголя, а также душевные травмы. Но нет худа, без добра и уже в середине 2009го Дмитрий заканчивает последние доработки для нового диска SUICIDAL ROMANCE - «SHATTERED HEART REFLECTIONS»… альбом, который покажет SR с новой стороны. Материал представлен в более современном стиле… полностью оставляет готический стиль во временах депрессий Дмитрия и задаёт совершенно новое звучание для SUICIDAL ROMANCE.
