Shostakovich: The Golden Age (Op. 22) - Complete ballet music

Dmitri Shostakovich (1906-1975)
The Golden Age - Op. 22

Classical | 1994 | 2 CD: 68'07 + 65'39 | APE + CUE | 598 MB

Ballet in three acts (1929-1930) - Complete ballet music
Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra
Gennady Rozhdestvensky, conductor

Among the three full-length ballet scores that Dmitri Shostakovich wrote between 1925 and 1935 (The Golden Age, The Bolt and The Limpid Stream), The Bolt is my favorite. More astonishing, amazing, great, funny, elusive, punchy than the others.
But this ballet score, The Golden Age, is really attractive.
And Rozhdestvensky is -as my point of view- among the best Shostakovich music conductors. A great performance!
