Wonderful Mendelssohn recording.

From Penguin Guide:
Maag's classic account of the Scottish Symphony rightly finds itself on the Legends label, for its freshness and natural spontaneity. The opening cantilena is poised and phrased very beautifully and sets the mood for what is to follow. A pity that the exposition repeat is not included, and though in the last movement the final Maestoso is measured, the effect remains most compelling, almost Klemperian in manner, with superb horn-playing. The Midsummer Night's Dream date from 1957 sound equally fresh and the character of the playing is again superb. The Kingsway Hall recording is warm, full and well projected, and this new Legends mastering includes the vocal and choral numbers on the original LP, which were not included in the previous reissue. Strongly recommended - a wholly delightful disc.
