In 1992, the members of Melvins released their own individual solo EP's in between their Bullhead and Lysol albums. The covers are an homage to Kiss' solo albums from 1978. New member Joe Preston (bass) devoted his EP to experimental and drone rock sounds, true to his roots as a member of Earth and later projects after he left Melvins. Drummer Dale Crover displayed his hard rock attitude and sang on all of his songs. Buzz Osborne, as King Buzzo, received help from a drummer named Dale Nixon, who in this case was Scream drummer Dave Grohl. By the time these EP's were released, Grohl would become a member of Nirvana. The last song on Buzzo's EP, "Skeeter", is actually an all-Grohl song he originally released on the Pocketwatch EP on Simple Machines under the name Late! It was released originally as "Just Another Story About Skeeter Thompson".
