With the release of their second album, Highwayman 2, these living legends embarked on an historic tour. Between them, they are responsible for many of the biggest hits in country music history. In Highwaymen Live they accompany each other in 25 classic performances filmed in March 1990 at Long Island’s Nassau oliseum, plus share candid thoughts and anecdotes about each other and their music.

The Highwaymen were a group of four Superstars of the Countryszene.
The Highwaymen were founded in 1985 by Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson. As with the four musicians record sales were down and they have long were friends with each other, they decided to make music together and go on tour.The first album of the four stated Highwayman. The first song on this album was name-giving. The full version of Johnny Cash song "Big River" with which taken in 1955 original unused fourth verse with the highwaymen and was also released on this album.
1986 "Ringo", was filmed with the members as the lead of the Western "Stagecoach", a remake of the John Wayne classic 1939,in 1990 he "Highwayman 2" and finally 1995 released "the road goes on forever".1990 the highwaymen were first toured the United States. The tour was a great success and the halls were always sold out. More tours the United States, Europe and Australia followed until 1995. The band played Germany gig in 1992 in Frankfurt am Main, Munich, Hamburg and Berlin.
The Highwaymen was dissolved again in 1995. Was difficult to gather all the musicians in the Studio or on stage. There followed but several projects where the four different ways made music, for example VH1 Storytellers with Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson.
