The new and fourth studio album by the German melodic metal/hard rock band Hammerschmitt! Like phoenix rising from the ashes, Hammerschmitt aims to catapult traditional hard rock to the here and now. Recorded by Bobby Altvater at Sky Studio in Taufkirchen, Germany. Mixed and mastered by Mario Lochert at Dreamsound Studios in Munich, Germany. Numerous club shows and festival appearances, on European tour as support for Serious Black.

There might be bands that are meaner, louder, harder or faster - as well as bands that are better looking, more modern or younger - but among these are rarely bands that are successful since more than 20 years and come with the same line-up since the beginning. This is exactly what Hammerschmitt distinguishes them from the previously mentioned! Real bands are rare, but Hammerschmitt delivers - not only live! Hammerschmitt recorded a first demo in 1997. They already played together in a band called Pierrot 10 years prior to that. After 2 years without any live gigs and a lot of hard work, the self-produced debut album "Hammerschmitt" (completely with German lyrics) was released in 2000, followed by numerous live gigs. The second album "Mein Herz" followed in 2005. The album showcases everything that characterizes the band nowadays. Celebrating their 20th anniversary, Hammerschmitt played at Munich's Backstage with the original line-up. 2 years later, the band went on a brief hiatus but returned soon after. The stage was always the place to be to make themselves heard, but it also limited the band's creativity, and that's why the band decided to focus on songwriting instead of playing gigs. They stick to that and started rehearsing. From the very first rehearsal session on, the room was filled with magic and brought the joy of playing their own music back, which is the root and essence of the band. The idea of a concept album was formed, where the story's theme and music influence each other. From the very beginning, each band member was involved in everything. Music and words were merged into a unit. The band wanted not only to create an album, but THE album! A story between chaos and cosmos, the hunger to find fulfillment in the war against the one true enemy: your own ego! 12 songs between war and freedom, 12 songs for freedom: the third album "12 -Jenseits Der Stille" was released in 2011. The album was liked by die-hard fans and press alike, but the band couldn't please everyone. The musical style of the album can best be described as hard rock/metal, but most people don't connect this genre with German lyrics! The majority of the fan base wasn't very pleased, and Hammerschmitt didn't gain many new fans. Since Hammerschmitt neither identify with the so-called Deutschrock or Neue Deutsche Härte, the band decided to put everything on hold starting late 2012 and until autumn 2013. The band returned rejuvenated, had fun while exploring itself and conjured the ghosts of the past. The idea to release a set of matching EPs with English lyrics to celebrate fun, freedom and rock 'n' roll, was born! Both EPs "Born To Rock Vol.1" and "Born To Rock Vol.2" were released in 2013 and 2015, respectively.
