So far, most sources indicated that album as a 2nd LP in the discography of this highly underrated UK hard/prog rock band; reportedly released in 1974 - whole year after the great Scruffy Duffy LP. However, looking carefully at the catalog number of the German vinyl edition, it became clear that we are dealing with a debut album - although never published in UK (only in Germany, France and Brazil), but issued a whole year earlier than the excellent and slightly better known predecessor! Anyway, in 1972 the group proposed an equally impressive and freshly-sounding hard rock material (with clear, progressive influences), similar to the early Uriah Heep, Deep Purple and Humble Pie - with some minor Jethro Tull influences, too… Enjoy!

================================================================================

Heavy Rock Progressive (and sometimes acoustic) sounds of Duffy are featured on this very desirable album, and the group have become quite a firm favourite amongst rock and blues audiences. Duffy’s first album show the band’s heavy sound more than their second LP. Here is including more ballads and a nice cover of Animals’ “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood”. Fairly hard, semi-commercial progressive hard rock, similar to their second. Very consistently good. Very nice and interesting band; recommended for old rock lovers!.
Little info about this excellent British band. Stuart "The Queen" Reffold (lead vocals, harp, percussion), Barry "Fruity" Coote (lead guitar, 12-string guitar, acoustic guitar), Joe Nanson (vocals, keyboards), Patrick "Patty" Sarjeant (bass, vocals), Will "Wombat" Wright (drums, percussion). This album was recorded in 1971 and released only in Germany. A reissue of 1974/75, better known than that of 1971, has caused, to think that this is the second album of the band, but the second is Scruffy Duffy from 1973, Just In Case You're Interested from 1971, is the first album of the band, or at least seems to be the first of two, but other sources speak of an edition of Scruffy Duffy from 1970, originally released on Chapter One label, and in such case, this disc would be the second. All a big mystery.
Duffy - British hard rock band. I do not write - from a city, as of no importance. They lived in Switzerland (as were the Swiss engineer and producer Stephen (Stefan) Sulke), singles and album released in Germany. Toured continental Europe. Released 2 LPs - this and Scruffy Duffy. Psychedelic hard blues-rock with progressive tendencies … That's interesting.
