For their first recording, Bruno Philippe and Tanguy de Williencourt have chosen three masterpieces of Romantic chamber music. Throughout this programme, the piano carries on a dialogue with the full, warm sound of the cello in a fascinating polyphony.

This recording bears witness to a unique moment of poetry, magic and complicity.

Composer: Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann
Performer: Tanguy De Williencourt, Bruno Philippe

Bruno Philippe was born in 1993 in Perpignan. He began studying the cello at the age of five with Marie-Madeleine Mille and regularly studied in Yvan Chiffoleau's masterclasses. He later joined the Conservatoire de Paris where he graduated with honors. In 2011, he won the Grand Prize and Third Prize for the best recital in the International Competition André Navarra and the opportunity to perform as soloist with the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse under the direction of Bruno Mantovani. Philippe has also played with other musicians and in the most prestigious festivals.

A true Renaissance musician, the pianist Tanguy de Williencourt is an accomplished soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist who is also pursuing studies as a vocal coach and conductor. Following successful completion of his Master’s degrees in piano and accompaniment with Jean-Frédéric Neuburger and Roger Muraro at the Paris Conservatoire, he recently entered the Artist Diploma Programme there. His performances have taken him to French National Radio, the Chamber Music Hall at the Berlin Philharmonic, Kyoto’s Alti Hall, and leading French venues, including La Roque d’Anthéron, the Folle Journée de Nantes and the Cité de la Musique, playing with instrumentalists Olivier Charlier, Jérôme Pernoo, Patrice Fontanarosa and Jean-Marc Phillips-Vajabédian and singers Omo Bello, Julie Fuchs and Jeanne Crousaud.
