The legendary entertainer, who first found fame as a nightlife sensation during Manhattan's early 90s club scene, has released a new double-disc dance album of her greatest hits, all remixed and re-edited for maximum fun on the dance floor.
I… Amanda Lepore: Make Over Sessions contains new versions of Lepore's best-loved songs, including the previously unreleased B Ames's vogue-ball mix of "My Hair Looks Fierce," and extended, DJ-friendly versions of "Turn Me Over" and "My Pussy."
The collection also contains a previously unreleased version of Lapore's rendition of the Marilyn Monroe anthem, "I Wanna Be Loved By You." Fans know the song is a staple of Lepore's live show.
"The remixes are special to me because they can work before, during, and after the party. There's something for everyone," Lepore tells The Advocate. "They also bring new life to some of my classics while I'm in the studio making brand new music for my fans."
Of course, Lepore relishes a good makeover, but which new remix does she loved best?
"I'm excited about the whole album, but 'My Pussy' is a favorite," Lepore says. "I love performing it live and my fans always tell me how much they love it. The original with Larry Tee has been extended especially for this album."
