Note: This story was the eighth chapter of "Atlantis Attacks", a crossover storyline running through Marvelís 1989 annuals. Tigraís presence in this story was later dismissed as a continuity error since she was supposed to be inactive at this time.

"The Initiation of Quasar"

After helping the Avengers defeat Supernova, Quasar is invited to join the team and does so after performing his initiation tests under the supervision of Captain America.

Avengers Assembled: Thor, Doctor Pym, Captain America, Hawkeye, Wonder Man, Tigra, Thing (as member of Fantastic Four), Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Gilgamesh, Quasar III. Falcon II and Swordsman appear in portraits on the walls of Avengers Mansion.

Other Characters: Firelord, Human Torch II.

Note: This story takes place between Avengers # 303 and 304.

Avengers Assembled: Captain America. Thor, Iron Man, Doctor Pym, Wasp, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther, Vision II, Black Knight III, Moondragon, Falcon II, Wonder Man, Tigra and She-Hulk appear in computer profiles compiled by Captain America.

This issue also contains "Manifest Destiny" (by Peter Sanderson, Mark Bagley and Keith Williams), Chapter 8 of a history of the Serpent Crown running in Marvelís 1989 annuals.
