Caddyshack is a 1980 American comedy film directed by Harold Ramis and written by Brian Doyle-Murray, Ramis and Douglas Kenney. It stars Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, Michael O'Keefe and Bill Murray. Doyle-Murray also has a supporting role. This was Ramis' first feature film and was a major boost to Dangerfield's film career; previously, he was known mostly for his stand-up comedy. Grossing almost $40 million in the U.S. alone (16th highest of the year), it was the first of a series of similar comedies. A sequel, Caddyshack II, followed in 1988, although it was not nearly as successful or well-received. In 2000, Caddyshack was placed at number 71 on the American Film Institute's list of the 100 funniest American films. In 2005, a line from the movie was chosen by AFI for their list of the top 100 movie quotes from U.S. films. This film is also second on Bravo's "100 Funniest Movies".

The vinyl was a bit noisy, but it came out ok in the end.

Digitially mixed and mastered and LP mastering by Bernie Grundman.

Review by Craig Curtice
Widely regarded as the funniest golf movie of all time, Caddyshack will be forever remembered for its superb cast of wacky characters and infamous one-liners. The first half of the soundtrack has four of Kenny Loggins' more recognizable songs present, particularly the driving gopher rocker "I'm Alright (Theme From Caddyshack)" and "Make the Move," featuring a smooth-layered vocal intro intertwined with the movie. What follows is a mixed bag of scores, from Journey's fist pumping "Anyway You Want It," now permanently linked to Rodney Dangerfield's fairway dancing, to the Johnny Mandel lounge instrumental "Marina," worthy of multitudes of Chevy Chase's goofball facial expressions. Mandel's other instrumentals, "Divine Intervention" and "The Big Bang," give classic compositions an overworked royal shanking. "There She Goes" by the Beat is another eagle, but then there's the triple bogey "Something on Your Mind" by Hilly Michaels, which sounds like Queen on Carl Spackler's specially grown grass (still Bill Murray's finest hour). The fact remains that the majority of this music exists elsewhere, leaving what's left better enjoyed during the film, rendering this overall decent outing a solid par.

This is what I do in general. Not every step is done for all rips:
LP > Rega P1 with Ortofon Super 30 > TC-750LC > E-Mu 0202 > Adobe Audition 3 (AA) @ 96kHz 32bit float > Manual click removal in AA > Click Repair set @ 20 > AA used to balance L/R > (for MONO: Equalizer (from the ClickRepair guy) used to combine L+R >) AA to split tracks, fade in/out, and for manual click removal >

for 24bit: use AA to truncate the 32bit file >
for 16bit: Izoptope RX Advanced to resample the 32bit file to 44.1kHz > and then to dither to`16bit using MBIT+ >

All > Trader's Little Helper to FLAC and (for 16bit: sector align if necessary, pad) > MP3 Tagger to edit tags.

"16bit" = 16bit at 44.1kHz
"24bit" = 24bit at 96kHz
