AMIGA was the state owned ("peoples owned") record label of the former GDR. Who wanted to release music had to compromise to the state policy and control. Nevertheless a lot of great music was produced there and this project aims to collect some of this to prevent it from falling into oblivion. This collection is of course subjectively and will never be complete. Anyway, i hope you will have some fun with it!

Petra Zieger (* 25. März 1959 in Erfurt) ist eine deutsche Rocksängerin.
Nach einer Lehre als Damenmaßschneiderin besuchte sie die Bezirksmusikschule in Erfurt und studierte danach Gesang an der Hochschule für Musik „Franz Liszt“ in Weimar. Ab 1976 trat sie als Solistin mit dem Erfurter Tanzorchester auf und sang in einer Erfurter Bigband.
Einen der größten Erfolge feierte sie 1989/90 mit dem Lied Das Eis taut, das Bezug auf die deutsche Wiedervereinigung nimmt. Es folgte eine Einladung in die USA, wo sie vor 500.000 Zuschauern in Philadelphia sang. Seit der Wende konnte Petra Zieger an ihre Erfolge anknüpfen und tourt bis zum heutigen Tag regelmäßig durch Deutschland. Zieger hat Plattenverträge mit BMG/Ariola sowie Auftritte im Fernsehen, Radio und Internet. wikipedia
