Warner Vision is pleased to announce the March 24th 2003 release of the highly anticipated multi-channel DVD-Audio album retrospective from one of the greatest country recording artists, Emmylou Harris. Entitled Producer's Cut, this unique retrospective features 14 songs taken from seven of Emmylou's first eight albums for Reprise Records, plus a rare, previously unreleased duet with Johnny Cash, Old Rugged Cross, originally taken from the Roses InThe Snow recording sessions. This track is included on this DVD-A release as a special bonus track.

Collectors will want this compilation of Emmylou's early work for the inclusion of a duet with Johnny Cash on "Old Rugged Cross". Techno-buffs will want it for the crystalline 5:1 surround sound, remixed for DVD-A format by Brian Ahern, who produced 11 albums for Harris between 1975 and '83. The rest of us can simply enjoy a fine selection that places such classics as "Boulder To Birmingham" and "Pancho And Lefty" alongside less celebrated gems like "The Last Cheater's Waltz".

Rhino Records asked producer Brian Ahern to select his favorite tracks from the Emmylou Harris albums he helmed – he produced her first 11 studio offerings for Reprise Records. That's quite a daunting task when you consider that some of those recordings were Elite Hotel, Luxury Liner, Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town, and Pieces of the Sky, just to name a few. But Ahern rose to the task and put together a solid, aesthetically perfect set here, highlighting many different aspects of Harris' career at the time: from her trademark, utterly pure singing voice, to her song selection, to the sound of her band and the studio she recorded in, this is a top-notch set from start to finish and serves as an excellent introduction to her early work for the newcomer.
