About the music.
Psychedelic is a term seldom used in conversations regarding '60s Detroit rock. The only band that comes to my mind is "SRC". Mitch Ryder? Bob Seger? The MC5? The Stooges? I don't think so. The only reason this album falls into mind is because of side two, and it's an anomaly unto itself. The "Dukes" and Ted never did anything like it again. But fact of matter is, it's something of a lost gem. It's definitely a B-grade "psyche" side but not without its own charm. The musicianship is way above average for the era even if the themes aren't.

Side one is a flat out blues-rock fest with Ted and the boys totally kickin' it. All in all I think this album captures the Detroit scene as vibrantly as any other release from 1968. Young, confused and ROCKIN'!

About the vinyl:
I have the original you're about to down, a 1971 UK pressing that sounds nothing like this one and a recent 180g reissue I have yet to seriously judge but all signs point to the original which is in exceedingly good condition. For the best listening experience convert Flac to Wav. Trust me!
