To protect the singers from persecution by the South African apartheid regime, their identity was kept secret. Their songs are accompanied by percussion and sometimes guitar. They lived and worked in Germany in the sixties, and although they were no professional musicians, they produced this record to raise funds for the ANC and the fight against Apartheid.
On the back cover there is an essay in German language about the political situation in southern Africa. The record also came with a booklet containing more info material supporting unionists and students in their political activities, but it's missing in my copy.
