The record reminds me of Lake, where he played before, and of Journey – he had been touring the US several times.
Translation of German-Wiki biography:
Alex Conti was born on April 2nd, 1952, in Berlin.
In 1969 at the age of 17 Conti already was a professional musician. In 1973 he spent a year with bands in England (including Curly Curve). In 1974 he joined the band Atlantis, where he replaced Dieter Bornschlegel on electric guitar. In 1975 Conti was on tour with Atlantis in the US supporting Aerosmith and Lynyrd Skynyrd. He recorded two Atlantis albums: 'Ooh baby' and 'Atlantis live'. 1975 Conti moved to Lake, whose debut album was a Europe-wide success in 1976 and was leading many charts. Since the band was also successful in the US, several tours followed there in 1977 and 1978, with Neil Young and again Lynyrd Skynyrd.
In 1980 Conti left the band Lake, which would dissolve later in 1988. He published two solo albums in 1981 and 1984, then he joined the Hamburg-based band 'Elephant' for two years. In 1986 and 1987 followed a collaboration with Herwig Mitteregger on the albums 'Immer mehr' and 'Blinder Passagier'. In the years 1990 to 1994, he lead his own band 'Rosebud Conti', releasing three albums. In 1997 he also accompanied the former Atlantis singer Inga Rumpf on an album. Since 1992, Conti was with the Hamburg Blues Band, completing four CDs and over 1,000 performances.
In 2000 Conti made a musical excursion with Frank Diez into the history of rock music. Together with Colin Hodgkinson, Tony Hicks, keyboarder Wolfgang Norman Dalheimer and Jon Smith on saxophone, they re-recorded their favorite songs of the 1960s and 1970s, but only in 2008 these were published under the name 'Bärlin Blues Band' on the CD 'Berlin Blues'.
In 2003 he took part in the revival of 'Lake', the following year they went back on tour and in 2005 they presented their comeback album 'The Blast of Silence'. From autumn 2006, Conti has also worked together with Richie Arndt, Gregor Hilden and Henrik Freischlader, producing the album 'Rorymania' - this project went on two tours as well.
In 2008 Alex Conti played on the CD 'Kaleidoscopia' by the Swiss musician 'Beatnik'. Also on this album bassist Raoul Walton, keyboarder Mathias Ulmer and drummer Peter Kumpf, all current members of 'Anyones Daughter'.
In 2009 Conti recorded an instrumental album under the title 'Shetar', published in April 2010.
Also in 2010 Conti was supporting a tour of Lynyrd Skynyrd with Lake for the third time, but this time in Germany.
