Create a Nice Vector Folder Icon!
Check out this nice little tutorial on creating a fully vector, shiny, folder icon using Adobe Illustrator CS4. This tutorial is compatible with older versions of Adobe Illustrator as well. We will talk about using gradients and subtle shadows to create the illusion of depth in an illustration as well as masking different effects to get both a neat little text effect and a shiny surface on our folder. Vector Abstract Glowing 3D Ribs!
I'm sure you have seen them, but maybe did not know how they were made. Today we take a look at those cool glowing, color changing, fading, bright, neon-like, fanning spread of glowing colors. Not really sure what you want to call them, but I am going to refer to them as 3D Light Ribs. You can use these in Photographs, Illustrations, Composites, Print Work, Web Design, maybe even a logo or two! We will learn a little about the stroke tools, copying vector artwork to Photoshop, and mainly the Blend Tool.

Metal Lightning Icon on Full Vector Leather!

The sweet thing about this effect is it is really different each time and depending on the intensity of your strokes you get varied results which means you can use this in tons of different projects! Drawing a Nice 3D Box Web 2.0 Style!
In this Illustrator Tutorial we will be using Illustrator CS4 to draw this nice little 3D box which can easily be edited for use in tons of different ways! The beauty of this box is that it is all vector and very easy to use in a wide number of different editing programs! We will take a look at mapping artwork, using the 3D effect, effects in general, creating a reflection, and a bit of masking as well. A bunch of cool stuff to learn as we build a nice little box!
