An introduction to the English phonological system. This work serves as a useful resource to teach pronunciation courses or to improve the quality of your work on pronunciation as it comes up in the classroom.

From the Macmillan Books for Teachers series of methodology/teacher development books, this eBook for English language teachers is an ideal introduction to the English phonological system. It is an invaluable resource, whether you teach full pronunciation courses or you'd simply like to improve the quality of your work on pronunciation as it comes up in the ELT/ESL classroom. The first half of the book is a description of the phonological system. In it, Adrian Underhill discusses the sounds of English and describes how they are physically produced. The second half consists of creative and practical classroom activities which you can use to help your students improve their pronunciation.
