The Six Healing Sounds Qigong (六字訣 Liu Zi Jue) is a very old form of Life Nourishing Qigong (Yang Sheng). This system is based upon the Wu Hsing (Five Element Theory) and organ correspondences. Early records trace the use of sound in healing back to Qin Dynasty (221-207 B.C.) though undoubtedly it has been used for much longer. This form of Qigong is called "Tu Na". It is a type of mantra meditation.

In Chinese medical theory, each of the body's major organ systems corresponds to an element, color, direction, season, and sound. The Six Healing Sounds are used to balance the body's organs and their associated energies by reciting the sound and meditating on the organ system. In addition to the meditations, there are also Tao Yin Movements to compliment the sounds.

The six healing sounds are: Xu, Ke, Hu, Si, Chui, and Xi, corresponding to: liver, heart, spleen, lungs, kidney, and triple burner respectively.
