EAGLE ONE is nothing short of enthralling. It was very hard to put down. If you like stories involving catastrophic, apparent mass extinctions and how people react under those conditions, this book and its predecessor is for you. The story is reminiscent in some ways of the story of Noah's Flood. The story presents bleak realities which, without the factors of hope, toughness, goodness and love; lead most to despair, desperation and predatory self preservation. Throughout the story, there is always a thread of hope to not only survive a few more days, but to find a new sustainable beginning. I expect that there will be an Ark of preservation somewhere down the line, but who knows?
