Introducing Teens to Programming
Students will learn to create their own computer programs and video games using the C# programming language. No prior programming experience is assumed. We will introduce all the required programming skills from the ground up.
Students will be exposed to all the stages in software development and develop problem-solving skills as well as learn the syntax of the C# language.
Over the past ten years, there has been an effort to increase enrollment in computer-related programs at the post secondary level. This course prepares students for further study at the College/University levels.
The challenges are drawn from a variety of disciplines and workplace situations. They address the wide spectrum of student interests (business, science, games) , and provide opportunities for broad applications of programming, and are free of bias.
Communication is a key skill of programmers. In addition to reading and writing, programmers communicate using programming standards and conventions, and through developing internal and external documentation. These skills are integral to every unit.
