From the introduction: The Aircraft in Action series is a new concept. Between the covers of this book will be found some of the finest photographs of aircraft ever taken. Text has been kept to a minimum, since we feel that there are many books available dealing with the aircraft in detail, but lacking in photos that the discriminating collector and modeler is seeking. These photographs come from many sources and show primarily aircraft under operational conditions. At least 90 percent of the photographs in this book have never been published before.
