This book offers a commanding overview of the technological advances in prediction and verification of the thrust and drag of aircraft in flight. It treats determination of the difference between installed thrust and drag of an aircraft and how it is complicated by interaction between inlet airflow and flow over the boattail and other aerodynamic surfaces.

Following a brief historical introduction, chapters explore the need for a bookkeeping system, describe such a system, and demonstrate how aerodynamic interference can be explained.
Subsequent chapters illustrate calculations of thrust, external drag, and throttle-induced drag, and estimation of error and its propagation.
