D&S Vol. 57

The P-38 Lightning represented a dramatic leap forward for fighter planes of its time. It was faster, bigger, and more heavily armed compared to other fighters, and easily recognizable with its distinctive twin tail booms. Part 1 covers the experimental models through the P-38H, along with a discussion of the related reconnaissance versions of the plane.
FEATURES: Filled with specifications, facts, and pictures. This is a very interesting book that, by putting the Info w/Pictures, is Educational as well. Clarifies features found on some models but not on others. Lots of close-up and detailed pictures, perfect for scale modelers. Includes a section on the "Glacier Girl" restoration project (A P-38 rescued from its ice-covered Arctic crash site). Includes reviews of plastic scale models of the P-38.
