cmiVFX - Cinema 4D Ultimate Learning System 2.0 (Volume 1-5)

Cinema 4D Ultimate Learning System 2.0 Volume 1

Simply put, you have to crawl before you walk, walk before you run, then run before you fly. This series starts off with the core usage of C4D by breaking it down in a clean and concise manor for all artist skill levels. Ranging through User Interface, Point Snapping, General Tools and the Layer Manager, this video covers many of the crucial elements needed for all purpose usage.

Introduction
Probably one of the areas that many intermediate users skip are the basic fundamentals. There are always those little things that could save you so much time that is often skipped due to time constraints during learning software. Well, now you have no excuse to go back and pick up some of those lost gems with this volume 1 in the series.

Managers And UI
Starting from the top of the tool manager, we will explore the fundamental tools of the C4D interface. This general overview includes: selection, transform, last 10 tools, objects, render settings, parametric and freehand splines, NURBs objects, modeling objects, deformers, environment, camera, and lights. Finally, we get into customizing managers and commands, and developing your own palettes and layout.

Snaps
We will learn to move objects in a precise manner through both 2D and 3D spaces using snaps. Learn more about spline snaps, quantilizing, and a basic intro to guides.
Tools

We will go in-depth on various fundamental tools including the guide tool, measure & construction tool, annotation tool, and doodle tool. This chapter concludes with customizing work planes.

Layer Manager
This chapter starts with a highly complex scene and reviews how to set up custom commands and to assign materials and objects to layers in order to simplify and organize the scene.

Cinema 4D Ultimate Learning System 2.0 Volume 2

Do you think you can model? Good with layout? That’s great, but are your renders falling flat anyway? Cinema 4D Materials are some of the most robust tools in the industry, and learning them takes practice and muscle memory. Let cmiVFX inject you with both with this feature length video on shader materials. This volume will cover a ton of information on materials. Walk away with the confidence you crave and deserve after checking this video out!

Introduction
Some of the work we see at cmiVFX is very promising for the amount of submissions. However, even though it is far better than even 5 years ago, one of the leading areas of failure fall in the range of how materials interact with the surfaces and with the lighting. This video covers that mixture quite well. We expect to see a major increase in quality of student work shortly after this video hits the market.

Surface Shader
In the first chapter we introduce you to Material Manager and create a shader using a variety of textures in the various channels. Then we'll review This list of procedural textures:
Fresnel, Gradient, Noise, Fusion, Layer Shader, Brick, Cloud, Cyclone, Display Color, Earth, Fire, Galaxy, Marble, Metal, Pavement, Planet, Star Field, Tiles, Venus, Wood

FX Shaders
Next we will cover some FX Textures and how to get the best results from them:
Ambient Occlusion, Back Lit, Distorter, Lumis, Normalizer, Pixel

FX Shaders Continued
Now we will continue exploring FX Textures that integrate with particles and splines:
Posterizer, Proximal Shader, Ripple, Spline Shader, Vortex Shader

SSS & Toon Shaders
Finally we'll cover some really deep shader systems:
Sub Surface Scattering, Spectral, Sketch & Toon - see the variety of amazing looks that can be achieved with these effects textures.

Rendering. ‘Nuff Said! This video is dedicated to rendering CG elements and all the little intricacies that hide in animation software packages. You might think you know everything there is to know about C4D Rendering, but you’d be wrong. Learn how to master the look you need every single time you render a project, and while your building them. This rendering video has been moved up in the series sequence so that follows material management. (See, we have a plane for everything!)

Introduction
Probably one of the more difficult tasks in CG is the rendering process. Many iterations can make this task time consuming. However, the benefit of Cinema 4D, is the speed and ease of use dedicated to this area. Our tests have this app getting better results in less time, so we wanted to move this topic up the chain so that it is not and issue with testing skills later learned in the following volumes of this series.

Picture Viewer
In the first chapter, we'll learn how to use the picture viewer to store and view your images and animations in C4D. Then I'll review the use of customized post filters and stereoscopic viewer.

Render Settings
This chapter will cover a key concept of using various techniques to render sections of your scene to fine-tune the details of your render settings. We'll review:
Render Region, Render Object, Render Takes, Make Preview, Render Queue, Interactive Render Region, Render Settings, Renderer

Optical Effects
This chapter takes us into the various render effects used to create real-world optical properties. We will cover:
Ambient Occlusion, Global Illumination, Depth Of Field, Motion Blur, Caustics

Multi-Pass Render
In this part of the video, we'll set up Multi-Pass in the render settings before taking our multi-layered render from C4D to Photoshop.

cmiVFX - Cinema 4D Ultimate Learning System 2.0 (Volume 1-5)

Cinema 4D Ultimate Learning System 2.0 Volume 4

Definitely one of the more in-depth videos of the series, Volume 4 covers a wide variety of topics in a particular range of Cinema 4D. Similar topics under this umbrella are often tied together when user requests come in to our support team. So we decided to pair them up and push it out. This video will cover Texture Baking, Stereoscopic setups, Camera Mapping and Projection Man. You will be an expert on these topics after watching this video.

Introduction
The topics in this video might seem like a stretch of information, however there is definite overlapping in certain areas that build a progression that can not be denied in this interesting selection of content known as Volume 4.

Texture Baking
This chapter covers "baking" procedural textures onto an object to create a bitmap. We demonstrate converting light and shadow into a bitmap.

Stereoscopic
We'll learn how to set up a 3D anaglyph render as well as viewing the individual parts in the picture viewer.

Camera Mapping Plus
In this chapter, we'll learn the basics of camera mapping. Then, we'll do a more advanced camera mapping example using Projection Man and Photoshop

Cinema 4D Ultimate Learning System 2.0 Volume 5

Yet, another explosive video release in the sequel Cinema 4D Ultimate Learning Series, this time about Animation. A topic that can simply not have enough instruction. A master animator studies life for ages before he earns the moniker of “Master”. Now becoming a master can simply take less time with On Demand HD streaming from cmiVFX. This video is ready today, and can be had for an affordable introductory price.

Introduction
Animation is the key to bringing your creations alive. Without it, your in the print industry! If your not laughing, you might be crying. Don’t worry yet, we will jolt you back into reality with this high energy, power packed, feature length animation guide. Perhaps more information than you would expect in a single volume, cmiVFX videos do not waste time with stalls and unreasonable rhetoric. Just lots of fun and you walk away a better artist every single time!

Animation UI
In our first chapter we go over some basic concepts vital to animation. We’ll examine key frames and different ways of creating and editing them. Then we explore different ways parent/child relationships can be used to organize and speed up work flow. And finally we show you some examples of expression driven animation.

Bones & Inverse Kinematic
Joint based deformation is a fundamental skill in character animation. In this chapter we’ll cover how to use the joint tool to create bones and IK chains and share some secrets for getting the most out of IK dynamics

Pose Morph
In this lesson we show you how to make a basic hand rig. Then, we build a library of precise poses using the morph tag which can be animated. Morphing bone movement instead of just point animation. (Really cool)

Parent Constraint
In this section, we simulate an arm picking up and putting down an object by animating the properties of a parent constraint. Probably the most important tutorial in the world of general animation.

Spring Constraint
Next we’ll build a cartoon eye rig using the aim constraint and add some secondary movement with the spring constraint. Fantastic effect for dramatic or silly slapstick moments in your story.

Character Tool
In this chapter, we explore the Character Tool and the different types of human and animal rigs it can make. I’ll show you how to customize your skeleton and save time with various short cuts. We will then explore the CMotion Tool to create a custom walk cycle and so much more.

Expressions
Interlocking gears with driven animation? No problem at all. In this chapter, we will take the key framed animation of one object and have it “drive” the animation of two other objects. First, by setting driver and driven relationships. Then, by adjusting their Xpresso tags we’ll fine tune and synchronize their movements.

Cappuccino
Cappuccino/grazing dinosaur; in this chapter I’ll show how to use the Cappuccino tool to create MoCap animation with just your mouse. Also clean up our data with the key reducer so your key frames can be more easily edited.
