Node.js has seen rapid and widespread adoption in the web development community, but for a long time it had a reputation for being slow to grow and evolve. Not any more! With a new open-source foundation, Node has moved to a six-month release cycle and is rapidly adding features. The latest long-term support version, 6.x, has more than 98% compatibility with the JavaScript ES6 (ECMAScript 2015) syntax.
In this ten-minute Coffee Break Course, Envato Tuts+ instructor Keyvan Kasaei will show you how to get started with Node 6. Keyvan will explain the current release lines of Node and outline the new improvements to Node 6. Follow along, and you'll get to go in depth with case studies of new ES6 features and guidance on when to upgrade.
