years travelling around the world to meet women from all places… Titouan Lamazou crafted beautiful portraits that tell us about common needs, dreams and the diversity in which they are expressed… from the feminine side .

From minister to farmer, prostitute to filmmaker, a chance to encounter some remarkable women, women invisible in the media eye ..

For his project «Zoe Zoe or Women of the World», UNESCO named Titouan Lamazou «Artist for Peace».

"Then there is the story of Tiane in Rio de Janeiro, the "Cinderella of the Garbage Heap," who sorts trash around cadavers of dogs and used hypodermic needles. Lamazou painted and photographed her in her modest home and on the job, then visited her again three months later and took pictures of her at a high-class bar after she had landed a modeling contract."

"Interestingly, Lamazou said that the women who touched him the most during his travels weren't the victims of war or poverty, but the girls in Los Angeles who come from all over the United States and abroad in an ill-fated attempt to become famous. "There were so many waitresses, stripteasers, porn actresses," he said. "They have really hard lives, and I felt a lot of tenderness for them. They're totally alone in their ambitions."

Biographie de l'auteur
Titouan Lamazou est ne a Casablanca en 1955. A 17 ans, il quitte le lycee pour s'inscrire aux Beaux-arts. A 20 ans, il embarque pour une traversee de l'Atlantique sur Pen Duick VI avec Eric Tabarly. Apres un an de dessin et de photos dans le Haut-Atlas marocain, il revient a la voile et bat tous les records : 2nd au Boc Challenge en 1987, 1er monocoque de Quebec-St-Malo en 1988 et de la Route du Rhum en 1990, vainqueur du Vendee-Globe-Challenge en 1990. Suite a cette fortune de mer, il decide en 1993 de se consacrer exclusivement a la creation artistique et aux voyages. De ses differents sejours, Titouan Lamazou rapporte autant de dessins, croquis, notes, gouaches, collages, photographies qui nourrissent ses carnets de voyage et nous invite a partager ses rencontres avec des artistes d'horizons contrastes.
