The Oriental collection described in the papers that follow was presented to the Illinois State Museum in 1940 by the Misses Helen and Eliza Condell. For nearly a quarter of a century it occupied the Oriental Gallery of the Museum on the fifth floor of the Centennial Building and is now exhibited on the second floor of the new Museum building at Spring and Edwards streets.
