The Pit of Emperor Qin Shihuang's Terra-Cona warriors and Horses is situated in Lintong district of Xi'an City, 1.5km away east of Emperor Qin Shihuang's Mausoleum. It exhibits funeral pits where terra-cotta warriors and horses were buried as part of Emperor Qin Shihuang's Mausoleum.
Three pits were discovered and numbered pit 1,2, and 3 respectively; the local villagers accidentally discovered Pit I when they were sinking a well in 1974. In 1976, after drilling, the archaeologists found Pit 2 and Pit 3. The pits cover a total area of more than 20,000 square meters, and are well known for the grand scale around the world. There are numerous unearthed colored artifacts. Besides 3D-odd wooden chariots, and over 2,000 life-size terra-cotta warriors and horses, more than 30,000 all kings
of bronze weapons were discovered. According to this, it is estimated that there are still buried over a hundred chariots, more than 600 terra-cotta horses, about 7,OOO terra-cotta warriors and many more practical bronze weapons.
