This is my integration of the two oldest forms of qigong in China: Five and six animal sounds healthful.

Five animals were initially probably used to a kind of shamanic dances.
It was thought that these animal spirits can get you connected to the supernatural worlds.
If you could use them, you will be healed gain magical powers of the invisible world.
Perceptions of the five animals developed within the framework of Taoist culture and represent the five spirits of the intellect (Shen has jing) of the five basic human vital organs.
There are five animals, one for each of the five elements.
