Clive Oxenden trained to teach EFL at International House, London, and later took his RSA (Cert) at Bromley College, Kent. He has taught English and trained teachers for 23 years, mainly in Spain but also in Turkey, Kuwait, Algeria, and the UK, where he was the RSA tutor at Padworth College in Berkshire. He has spent the last fifteen years teaching at the British Council, Valencia. Christina Latham-Koenig started her career in TEFL in 1976, teaching at International House and later at the British Council, both in Spain (Valencia) and in the UK. She got a distinction in the RSA Diploma in 1987, and then became a local supervisor for this course in Spain. She has worked as a teacher trainer for both native and non-native teachers of English. She now lives in Valencia, and she started collaborating as co-author of the English File series in 1995.

This CD-ROM works in two ways:
In your computer it has tests and continuous assessment materials as PDFs and Word documents, and full keys.
In your CD player it has new listening test material to use in class.

The tests on this CD-ROM are provided as PDFs and as Word documents – the content is the same. You can print out the PDFs and use them as they are. If you want to adapt the tests, you can edit the Word documents and save them on your computer. If you have any problems opening the documents, go to the documents folder on the CD-ROM.

There are two versions (A and B) of all the main tests (File Tests, Progress Tests, and End-of-course Tests). If your students don't copy each other then you can just use the A tests. If your students do copy each other then put them in pairs, one with an A test and one with a B test – it's almost impossible for them to copy each other's answers. (The A and B tests cover exactly the same material, but the questions have been changed and reorganized.)
