Military Symbols for Land Based Systems
NATO UNCLASSIFIED APP-6A
NATO | 1998 | ISBN: n/a | 403 pages | PDF | 5 Mb

This standard provides common operational symbology along with details on its display and plotting to ensure the compatibility, and to the greatest extent possible, the interoperability of NATO Land Component Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C4I) systems, development, operations, and training.

The contents of APP-6A constitute a single system of joint military symbology for land based formations and units, which can be displayed for either automated map display systems or for manual map marking. This publication covers all of the joint services and can be used by them.

APP-6A contains tables that provide the user with standard frames and icons, along with guidelines for their use.
