In January 1920, Tcheslaw Tchekhovitch, 20 years of age, was part of the Polish contingent of the Tsar's army in retreat to Constantinople. While haunted by memories of the atrocities of the Bolshevik revolution, he had a strange intuition that there exists another life, a life full of meaning. Seeing a poster announcing lectures by P.D.
