Call For Fire: Sea Combat in the Falklands and the Gulf War
Charnwood | 1997 | ISBN: 0708989276 | English | 520 pages | PDF | 95.7 MB

This is a first-hand account of fighting in the Falklands and the Gulf campaigns by the only British senior officer who commanded in both of these major wars. In 1982, Chris Craig was captain of the frigate HMS ALACRITY - the only British surface ship to sink an Argentinian vessel. Nine years later, he was in command of the twenty-six British ships in the Gulf campaign. Craig's account gives a compelling view of the conduct of sea warfare and of the business of commanding warships in modern battle. It is also a moving portrait of the events that took place and of the ordinary sailors who, in extreme adversity, behaved with great courage.
