Fire Mission - The Diary of a Firing Sergeant in Afghanistan

Craig Douglas, "Fire Mission - The Diary of a Firing Sergeant in Afghanistan"
English | ASIN: B00FGRER60 | 2013 | EPUB | 306 pages | 4,2 MB

Fire Mission is an unedited, uncensored account of a 6 month tour in a Forward Operating Base in Helmand Province, the heartland of the Taliban. The MOD didn't want this published as it portrayed the British Army in a bad way. Having left the Army Craig Douglas decided to go ahead anyway and publish the work.

Craig Douglas was a Firing Sergeant for an Artillery Troop in Afghanistan. He spent 6 months in FOB Inkerman, also known as FOB Incoming due to the amount of attacks it was subjected to by the Taliban. His tour was from October 2007 until April 2008.

In the month of November the base was practically attacked every day and resupply was few and far between due to the hostile location.

Put on your body armour, don your helmet and take cover. The shells fall thick and fast with devastating consequences.

Welcome to the Helmand Province through the eyes of an ordinary soldier who found himself in an extraordinary country.
