AutoCAD 2013 Data Management Workshop

In this workshop, AutoCAD expert and author Scott Onstott teaches you how to build intelligence into drawing objects so that the symbols used in your drawings carry meaning beyond simple geometric representations. You will learn how to embed manufacturer, model, and pricing data into commonly used blocks; create invisible attributes that embed data in geometry without it appearing in the drawing area; and use field codes to display information from AutoCAD’s database inside text objects. You’ll also learn how to format, edit, and extract attribute data for use in external spreadsheets and/or for display within tables in AutoCAD drawings.

Instructor: Scott Onstott

Scott Onstott is a consultant, lecturer, author, and independent video producer who has 14 years of experience teaching and writing about architectural and design visualization software. He is the author of Enhancing Architectural Drawings and Models with Photoshop as well as AutoCAD 2013 and AutoCAD LT 2013 Essentials, co-author of AutoCAD: Professional Tips and Techniques, and author or co-author of six other books. Scott has been writing articles in Photoshop User magazine since 2007, has taught over 1000 students face to face, and has spoken in various public venues on AutoCAD, 3ds max, SketchUp, and Photoshop. Scott lives on a remote island in British Columbia with his family.
