The work treats both the military badges instituted between 1938 and 1945, and those that were instituted earlier but were still in use during the period. Thus, several other military badges, which were introduced earlier in the interwar period, are dealt with. The book can be divided into two main units: a study that discusses all aspects of the topic, and a catalogue that offers a system of the period's badges, including items that can be found in Hungarian public and private collections, primarily in the MoD Military History Institute and Museum. The catalogue is made complete by photographs and graphic images, which have been compiled to illustrate the text.
