This Memoir contains a number or errors, both major and minor, which will be described briefly. Despite the errors, the main results are essentially correct, and the lines of proof given are generally accurate; however, one must reformulate some of the foundations and in some cases work a little harder. A more detailed accounting of the changes required will be given in an appendix to a closely related paper of the author, entitled Loewy filtrations ofWeyl modules, to appear in the Transactions of the American Mathematical Society in 1991. Also, a revised version of the Memoir will be available from the author.
