Open Water Diver Manual

Drew Richardson, "Open Water Diver Manual"
English | 1990 | ISBN: 1878663178 | DJVU | pages: 287 | 31,9 mb

The Open Water Diver course is divided into five modules. This book is divided into one chapter for each module. Each chapter elaborates on the knowledge and skills you"U be developing as you progress through the course.
Within each chapter, knowledge and skill objectives are stated at the head of each topic. These objectives tell you exactly what you need to know and be able to do to successfully complete the module.
As you read each knowledge objective, try to rephrase it into a question. For example, if the objective reads: "By the end of this section, you will be able to name the two pieces of equipment a diver commonly uses to control his buoyancy," ask yourself, "What are the two pieces of equipment a diver uses to control his buoyancy?" Making questions out of each of the objectives helps you learn quickly and easily.
After reading the objectives, study the material within each section. Special exercises have been placed throughout the book, allowing you to assess your comprehension of the material. The exercises require an immediate response that is to be marked directly in your book. Once an answer or answers has been chosen, compare it with the correct answerfs) provided. Reviewing the correct answer will provide you with immediate feedback on your performance. If your answer was incorrect, reread the related material.
Knowledge Reviews are placed at the end of each module. You are expected to read the appropriate chapter for each module and complete the Knowledge Review before attending that module's academic training session. Be prepared to hand the Knowledge Review in to your instructor before class begins.
During the academic training sessions, your instructor will review and discuss the key points in each module. If you still have any questions, be sure to have your instructor answer them. Your instructor will be glad to work with you until you understand the material.
