Chord Chemistry by Ted Greene
English | June 1981 | ISBN: 0898986966 | 114 Pages | PDF | 45 MB

Ted Greene's Chord Chemistry was originally published in 1971 and has become the classic chord reference book for two generations of guitarists. Whether you are just beginning to search beyond basic barre chords or are already an advanced player looking for new sounds and ideas this is the book that will get you there. Designed to inspire creativity this book is a musical treasure chest filled with exciting new ideas and sounds.

If you know someone who has started to play the guitar get them this book. Doubly if they have any interest in jazz, since that is where things head. The first chapter of the book deals with all of the triad voicings possible, major and minor– from power chords to very open three note chords. There is a logic to the order and that is no small claim, since there is a TON of material here. It then moves into 7th chords, with the same approach - list every available voicing for each kind of chord. Maj7, min7, dom7, all extensions (individually and combined), diminished… you get the point. The next half of the book deals with applications– some chord progressions, some substitution ideas, chord melody concepts, all clearly explained with lots of examples to make sure you understand.
