Physics 2

Physics 2 by David Sang
English | 2001 | ISBN: 0521797152 | 176 pages | Djvu | 7,5 MB

Physics 2 is all that is needed to cover the whole of the A2 physics material, corresponding to the module Forces, Fields and Energy. It is designed to be accessible to students with a double-award science GCSE background.

This book combines entirely new text and illustrations with revised and updated material from Foundation Physics, Basic Physics 1 and 2, and Further Physics, formerly available in the Cambridge Modular Sciences series.
Some particularly valuable features of this book are that SAQs and end of chapter questions are largely new. End of chapter summaries and the new
glossary at the end will both be helpful to students of A2 physics preparing for new specifications.

Chapter 1 is based on chapter 5 of Foundation Physics, although as is the case throughout this book, material has been updated and substantially
rewritten in accordance with specification changes. Chapter 2, 'Collisions and explosions', looks at the subject of dynamics, in part making use of material from chapters 3 and 5 of Foundation Physics.
The rest of the book makes use of a combination of Basic Physics 1 and 2 and Further Physics. The opening chapters of both these existing titles are
used to form the new chapter, 'Moving in a circle'. Similarly, the next two chapters, 'Oscillations' and 'Gravitational Fields', integrate material from the
second and third chapters of both of these existing texts. There are some sections of brand new material in the rest of the book which should
be noted. In particular, capacitance in chapter 7 and the hazards of ionising radiation in chapter 14, should be particularly useful to students.
